This is the first character rig I will be working on this this week I am animating a flower sack jumping up and down. I need to utilizing a lot of anticipation and follow through to allow this to look right and make the character feel like it has more weight just like the bunny.
For my first block I just focused on getting the curve for the body right to anticipate the jump and then using what I learnt on bouncy ball I got the curve for the jump right in the graph editor.
This doesn't look too bad but there are a lot of issues the biggest one being he takes off before reaching his peak stretch so that's the first thing ill fix. ill also try and make the anticipation look a little more life-like.
This is really starting to take shape the accent is looking really nice but I'm still not 100% on the decent so I'm gonna work on that for the next block getting the leg flaps to drag up a bit like they are being effected by air resistance.
This is a nice addition it really shows the weight difference by the different limbs of the character. middle being heavier than the leg bits. My only issue is i think it would be better if he didn't curl up till he hits the ground that way he will hit the ground curl up and stand up making him appear to have more weight and character.
And all that results in the final piece.
